11FIRST OF MAITREYA SCHOOL
April 21, 2014

21st April, 2014 was the special day in Nepal. It was the day the first Steiner-Waldorf kindergarten formally opened in Pokhara. The day began by lighting a candle and sound of Tibetan ‘singing bowl’.    All the children, their parents, teachers, Sarita Sanghai from India and Michal Ben-Shalom from Israel were in the circle to meditate and seek blessings for the new undertaking.

All joined in the singing of an appropriate song, trying finger-games and listening to a story at the conclusion.

There followed a brief period of free interaction between those representing Steiner-Waldorf education and parents eager to know more about the educational philosophy and methodology.
